And with today being Valentine’s Day (let’s celebrate this day of love!) these earrings seemed especially appropriate!
May all you couples, boyfriend girlfriend or any combo thereof – celebrate the one you love, share with him or her, and have a wonderful day!
Actually this is a Deal of the weekend, but that doesn’t have quite the same ring 🙂 I’m going to be doing a lot of site updates soon, and adding new work, and it’s going to get crazy. So I thought I’d start with a New Year’s Welcome 2018 “Deal of the Day”.
These pink rose (on yellow) lacquered paper earrings are such a pretty Spring color combo that they’re inspiring me, on this cold (I mean COLD) winter’s day. So, from Saturday, January 5, 2018, through Monday January 7, 2018, when you purchase a pair of these earrings, you get to pick a second pair (equal or lesser value) for free.
What would you choose?
Wow it’s been a while! I’m back and loving my Paper Jewels customers who’ve been with me through changes and ups and downs. You are appreciated!
Now just take a quick second to visit corporate gifts ideas if you are looking to expand your gifting.
As a way to jump back into the wonderful world of lacquered paper jewelry, I’m announcing a new BOGO sale. For all this week – Sunday, December 10, 2017 through midnight on Saturday, December 16, 2017, you can buy any Paper Jewels – and get your second item free! You get to choose what your freebie is, too. It has to be equal or lesser value to the item you purchase, and if you need these for Christmas gifts, you probably want to check and see what’s available NOW – my stock is getting low(ish). But I’m always ready for custom work and special orders and really will try to get your Paper Jewels ready in time for Christmas.
You could check these out, I have a pair ready to go:
Interestingly, I’ve had two customers order these as gifts for their besties! I guess Woman Power is a pretty cool thing to be thinking about right now. (Damn straight!)
Of course they can be customized with your favorite color, and I can use golden earwires rather than silver. It’s up to you!
P.S. If you were even thinking “hmm, maybe I should sign up for the Paper Jewels mailing list”, this would be a good time. Because I am going to be featuring a lot of new work in 2018 and that will def include some great BOGO sales and super special Deals of the Day! Just saying. You can join easy peasy by sending me an email – just say sign me up! (No, I won’t send you a ton of spam. A brief email, once or twice a month. Tops.)
May your Christmas be wonderful, or whatever holiday you celebrate – and let’s make 2018 a wonderful year. Seriously. Let’s do it.
This is a new version of a customer favorite – the dogtag pendant is a bit larger than my previous version (approx. 2″, the size of a standard U.S. military dogtag) with clean lined katakana (kanji) that says Meiyo, or Honor. It’s a best seller in my shop – and I think it’s kind of wonderful that “Honor” is a frequently requested kanji pendant.
Like all Paper Jewels, the color and size can be customized. And of course it makes a great Christmas present.
Just thought I’d mention it 🙂
Somehow life went going in other directions last year (yes, my Etsy jewelry supplies shop) and somehow a year has slipped by!
But you know, I’m not willing to let Paper Jewels slip away. I still love the idea of paper jewelry, if it’s made strong and durable – and mine is. It’s eco-friendly, which I love. And it is – sometimes anyway – original and interesting and different. And comfortable (I’m real fond of comfortable).
I like that it’s a little different. Apparently my customers do too – even with my shop on the back burner, I’m getting inquiries lately for custom work. Christmas presents, maybe?
So: let’s do this. Paper jewelry. It’s fun. It’s more expensive than my glass jewelry because, hello, takes a week to finish (and the glass gemstone work takes, hmm, fifteen minutes). And I’m doing a lot of new work these days. Stay tuned 🙂
P.S. No, it’s not related, and I’m not baseball obsessed, really, even though I do seem to keep mentioning it. But. The Cubbies! They won the Series! You don’t even have to be a baseball fan to love this. I’ll shut up about this now, really. But I mean. The Cubbies!
These fun earrings say Brianna in Japanese katakana (yes, we Westerners casually call it “Japanese kanji” – the term katakana is actually more accurate). These are one of my favorite new shapes (and so far, my customers that have bought this new style, darling girls that they are, seem pretty happy with them!)
This cornflower blue color can be changed, of course – you can request whatever color you like best. And for that matter, you can choose your own name in kanji.
But you knew that already 😉
I’ve done different incarnations of my pink gerbera daisy earrings – they’re a customer favorite and I do like playing with variations. The first pic here shows my “classic” daisy earrings:
And this second pair is my new version – made with antiqued brass backs with an overlay “face” of lacquered paper (rather than 4-6 layers of paper). What this means is that they’re less labor intensive – and cost less 🙂
They’re brand new onsite – I think they turned out pretty well, and of course they’re still lightweight and comfy (and can be made with natural brass earwires or leverbacks, or precous metal upgrade). I’ll be curious to see what you think!
Okay, I lose track, all right? I just wanted to show you these new earrings. They are personalized, part of my “Your Name in Japanese” collection, and I think the size and shape really work.
The earrings are only about 1″ long. The golden (raw) brass leverbacks are comfortable, much kinder to the skin than plated earwires – and considerably less expensive than goldfilled ones (which can be used too, by special arrangement). And, well, I think the slightly curvy, triangle shape is pretty cool.
Let me know what you think 😉
(Of course the colors as well as the kanji can be personalized, too!)
The earrings I’m showing in this post say Shiawa, or Happiness, in Japanese kanji. I thought they were particularly appropriate tonight – because tomorrow is a new year, and it’s going to be a good one 🙂
May all my buds have a great time tonight (I’m leaving in a few mins to meet them). May we all STAY INSIDE for the evening. Let other people drive around with the crazy drunks on the road. We’re going to tuck it in – and have a ball.
And next year? Happiness 🙂
This is something I hadn’t known till recently: pansies are considered the traditional “first anniversary” flower. I’ve always thought pansies were beautiful, with their wonderful variety and colorations. Now I have another reason to love them 🙂
And they’re probably the most popular flower in my shop, for earrings and necklaces – and now I know (another reason) why. Tradition. Wedding anniversaries. Pansy flowers. They go together like, well, love and marriage.
Plus: girly, pretty, and feminine. Just like flower earrings should be 😉
