It’s springtime. I’m in the mood for color and look what I found 🙂  It’s from Bahee, on Etsy and she has a shop full of goodness for you to explore. Happy and colorful goodies. And recycled! Here’s a pic of the brooch modeled on a garment, so you can see how it would really look:  Also did I mention recycled? I did? It’s worth repeating. Recycled – and adorable 🙂 Go peek! Let’s face it, it’s the middle of winter, and some color is looking really good right now. And if you’re a February baby, your colors are rich purple, shimmering amethyst, lively lilac 🙂 How about a pair of vintage boots – in purple?  They’re gorgeous purple, they’re faux suede (the best kind), they’re only $28.00 – and they’re purple! How can you go wrong? And if they’re gone when you go to peek, stay and look around – the Etsy shop is To Be Determined – on Etsy and she has lots more vintage goodies at great prices! Of course, you can also get a pretty pair of earrings (insert blowing-own’s-horn-here) from my own Paper Jewels shop 🙂  This example says “Alicia” in Japanese kanji – but of course you can choose any name (or word) you like. Perhaps the birthday girl? Or your own name? Get some color, get some purple, celebrate a February birthday! I just found the most fun, cool, unique, eco-friendly, fun, and hey, even useful giftie over on Etsy! It’s a book, it’s recycled, it’s (ta da) a Book Safe – how cool is this!  It’s handmade and available at Conduit Press at Etsy. Here’s how it looks, closed:  She has lots more choices – different books, different shapes inside – but in the text for this one, she even mentions Ayn Rand, whose work I totally loved when I was, er, a lot younger…. and this one has a FLASK included! I mean come on, you can see why I had to pick this one 🙂 She also has some yummy handmade journals, notebooks and cards – you’ve got to go peek. But the book safe? I mean, you can hide all kinds of goodies in there. Anonymously. Even, dare I say, safely 🙂 And it’s a recycled book. And it’s paper. And it’s just fun 🙂 So, the first year anniversary is traditionally considered the “paper anniversary” – well, except in Great Britain where, I’m told, the paper anniversary is the second anniversary. Not sure why the diff there. So I’m thinking most people go with the “paper anniversary” tradition. And all you first-year-marrieds out there? Have I got a gift suggestion for you 🙂 Guys – this is the perfect answer for your “what do I get for her, she loves jewelry, she loves flowers, yeah, and I’m supposed to do that paper thing” anniversary-present-that-I-need-to-order-TODAY problem. (The chinese word actually is “ma ma”!) If you’re married just a year, with a new baby, of course this would be PERFECT. Your paper anniversary (the first year anniversary), and a new mom too? She’ll love it – and you 🙂 Gotta love this. I was peeking around and found this majorly good-looking tee…. it’s casual but with a little extra spiff 🙂 That’s my kind of style… Then I read a little about it and saw it’s made with organic cotton and water-based inks (solvent free) which is very high on my list of “this is how clothes should be made”. There are plenty of reasons why you should buy secondhand clothing, many of which actually benefit you personally, no matter your lifestyle, you can sell in Flyp!! go check it out ! Buying secondhand clothes also benefits the environment in a big way, making it a win-win. Whether you’re unsure if buying secondhand clothes is for you, or maybe you just want to educate yourself of the perks, this post will open your mind to the idea of shopping secondhand clothing. It might even make you excited to get to your nearest thrift store.
It’s from Harrilu and no she didn’t bribe me to mention it – I just think her work is cool 🙂 You’ll never pay anywhere near full price, and this is great for when you find high-quality clothing from brand names that you know and trust. The amount of savings will of course depend on the thrift stores near you – they’re all different. So explore the secondhand shops in your area to see who has the best clothes/deals, or find other spots in your area to get secondhand items. The thing is, whether it’s a pendant or earrings with “Your Name in Japanese” or a specially made Initial Pendant just for you – it’s always personal. I think every business person knows this – or learns it. I’m making a product just for you. It matters. It’s special, it’s individual, it’s very personal. Here’s just one example:  The pendant on this brass, glass, and paper necklace says Sandra. And yes one can be made just for you or a gift you want to give. It’s always personal. |
