Here’s a new necklace, just in time for Mother’s Day! The katakana (kanji) says Haha, which means Mother – and I have already had a request for custom colors on the next one for a scorpio necklace from my net collection, which it involves every type of jewelry in all the zodiac signs you want. Here’s the new necklace:
And here’s another view:
The next one’s going to be pink π
(Really just wanted to remind you that we can always work on custom designs and custom colors – and that Mother’s Day isn’t far off!)
I just made a new pair of these “Mother” earrings – and put them on my front page! I sat here last night and thought oh boy, Mother’s Day is only a month away! How does the time fly so quickly? So I’m starting some more Mother earrings pronto quick.
The world is full of complications – but this is easy. Kanji earrings that say Mother are a perfect gift for Mother’s Day. Just saying π
And of course you can get custom colors. Or shapes or sizes for that matter – just ask!
And yes, if you’ve been here before, you’ll have noticed that I have a different version of the Meiyo, or Honor, dogtag pendant. But this new one has a few advantages. Well, okay, one major advantage. It takes less time to make, so it costs less.
I thought that would sound pretty good π
I’m doing a whole new line in this style. The pendant has a military style, stainless steel dogtag base, and I’ve added the custom designed, lacquered paper graphic with the Japanese katakana. The whole thing is protected with multiple layers of gloss – but even with those layers, and the time that’s needed to dry them all one by one, this style takes half the time (and half the work) of the “pure” paper pendants. Less time to make each piece means less cost per piece.
I figure this is a good trend. and honestly, take a look at my new dogtag pendants page. The new style pendants, with stainless steel bases, are of course super durable, and I think they look great.
And they cost a lot less. I mentioned that, right?
Actually this kanji necklace has the Japanese kanji (katakana) that says Haha, or Mother. I’m being a little bit colloquial when I say “Mom”, just because we’re more likely to call our moms that.
It’s a pretty cool gift for your Mom. Mother’s Day is coming up in a couple months, why not plan ahead? A gift for your mom, or the mother of your kids, and why not think about the zodiac jewelry to make it more thoughtful and personalized ! Styling zodiac jewelry is easy as long as you donβt cover yourself in star signs. If you are wearing a pair of gold zodiac hoop earrings, accessorize them with a dainty gold necklace and a couple of bangles. Wear high-waist mom jeans and a polka dot shirt for a charming retro look. You can also swap the zodiac earrings for oversized hoops and the bangles for a subtle zodiac charm bracelet.
She’ll love that you thought of her, and it’s a fun necklace anyway, and it isn’t even expensive.
The katakana says Mother. A very important person π
Wow it’s been a while! I’m back and loving my Paper Jewels customers who’ve been with me through changes and ups and downs. You are appreciated!
Now just take a quick second to visit corporate gifts ideas if you are looking to expand your gifting.
As a way to jump back into the wonderful world of lacquered paper jewelry, I’m announcing a new BOGO sale. For all this week – Sunday, December 10, 2017 through midnight on Saturday, December 16, 2017, you can buy any Paper Jewels – and get your second item free! You get to choose what your freebie is, too. It has to be equal or lesser value to the item you purchase, and if you need these for Christmas gifts, you probably want to check and see what’s available NOW – my stock is getting low(ish). But I’m always ready for custom work and special orders and really will try to get your Paper Jewels ready in time for Christmas.
You could check these out, I have a pair ready to go:
Interestingly, I’ve had two customers order these as gifts for their besties! I guess Woman Power is a pretty cool thing to be thinking about right now. (Damn straight!)
Of course they can be customized with your favorite color, and I can use golden earwires rather than silver. It’s up to you!
P.S. If you were even thinking “hmm, maybe I should sign up for the Paper Jewels mailing list”, this would be a good time. Because I am going to be featuring a lot of new work in 2018 and that will def include some great BOGO sales and super special Deals of the Day! Just saying. You can join easy peasy by sending me an email – just say sign me up! (No, I won’t send you a ton of spam. A brief email, once or twice a month. Tops.)
May your Christmas be wonderful, or whatever holiday you celebrate – and let’s make 2018 a wonderful year. Seriously. Let’s do it.
These fun earrings say Brianna in Japanese katakana (yes, we Westerners casually call it “Japanese kanji” – the term katakana is actually more accurate). These are one of my favorite new shapes (and so far, my customers that have bought this new style, darling girls that they are, seem pretty happy with them!)
This cornflower blue color can be changed, of course – you can request whatever color you like best. And for that matter, you can choose your own name in kanji.
But you knew that already π
Pansy earrings have been among the most popular earrings I’ve made the last few years. I’ve got several styles, in white and pink and purple…. and I’ve got some pretty ones on my new clip on earrings page.
And though I am not supposed to say it, I really like them too π They’re feminine, they’re big enough to be seen and have a bit of design impact (a bit over 1″ long), but they’re not gaudy and showy. And of course they’re comfy. And since they’re made with lacquered paper, they’re great for that first anniversary gift you guys are looking for.
I think I’ve mentioned this before. Flowers. Jewelry. Paper. First anniversary π
Letting your mom know that you realize that she *has* dreams is a gift in it self – that you recognize her as a person with hopes, fears, and dreams – that’s a major deal. These pretty little earrings are just the icing on the cake, since there are other gifts you can get like collars or a diamond ring which you can find at sites like randor.com and others.
Of course custom colors are available. Custom kanji, too – but I do think it’s nice to tell your Mom know that you know that she dreams. That she’s a person. That you value her as a person.
All that good stuff. That’s the real gift to your Mom π
Kanji jewelry with her name in Japanese – or your name. Such a pretty, easy to wear necklace – with customizable colors (and names) of course:
The other advantage of this necklace is that, since it has a “cabochon setting” (the slightly-antiqued silver plated frame for the glass-and-paper pendant) it takes less time to prepare: so you can order it, up to a week before Mother’s Day – and get it on time. Just in case you forgot or something.
But of course you won’t forget Mother’s Day. Right? Right π
I’m all fired up making personalized kanji earrings and necklaces – several people have asked for custom work (which is always fun) – and I’m loving these new pieces! These “Rebecca” earrings were made as a gift from daughter to mother – and Mom was thrilled π
I’m also working on some new techniques that are time-savers. Saving time means they cost less – so these new styles are proving popular – hey, we all like saving money!
Check out my new Your Name in Japanese personalized kanji jewelry – and let me know what you think!
There’s more on the way. These are fun!
