Here’s a new necklace, just in time for Mother’s Day! The katakana (kanji) says Haha, which means Mother – and I have already had a request for custom colors on the next one for a scorpio necklace from my net collection, which it involves every type of jewelry in all the zodiac signs you want. Here’s the new necklace:  
The next one’s going to be pink 🙂 (Really just wanted to remind you that we can always work on custom designs and custom colors – and that Mother’s Day isn’t far off!) This is a brand-new pair of earrings, which I am about to post onsite. I’ve been having trouble getting just the right pic of them… I really like simple white backgrounds, but when you’re photographing white (mostly white) earrings on white backgrounds, sometimes the detail is hard to get perfect. But I really do like these earrings and I am determined to do right by them 🙂  As always they can be customized for a special gift – larger, smaller, and we can play with the colors too. It’s supposed to be special, for your first anniversary. Let’s do that 🙂 This is a new pair of paper earrings in my shop and I’ve already had two customers ask if they could purchase a pair – in a custom color 🙂  Well of course they can. And actually, I’m going to make another pair too, with a bunch of different color stars. Just for fun. But meantime, I did want to point out that custom colors are always an option. These paper earrings really do make a wonderful, affordable first anniversary gift – and custom colors make them personal, yknow? That’s the way it’s supposed to be! And yes, it’s not actually a (human) model, it’s a mannequin. But it sounds silly to say “mannequin pics”, don’t you think? So – maybe I’ll just starting saying “see the earrings being worn”.  I really do like these Millie earrings – they’re a great red, and on the small(ish) size – so they’re super wearable. Well all Paper Jewels are comfortable, compared to most earrings they’re much lighter in weight – but the shape and size of these Millie earrings are really moderate, and I know a lot of people prefer that. I do myself, more than I used to anyway – I don’t wear huge earrings much anymore 🙂 So what do you think? Pretty cool, huh? (Oh – yes custom colors are available, and custom kanji too. But you knew that.) Okay, this is not precisely a “model” pic. I’m doing a new series of pics showing the earrings on a life-size mannequin head. Yes, the mannequin is slender and delicate – but it’s a step in the right direction! it’s hard to find a mannequin looks really real – maybe funky, with bad hair days and all – but I figure, showing earrings on a mannequin does at least show what the earrings look like when they’re being worn! So, what do you think?  I’ll be doing more of these pics – stay tuned! Oh – did I forget to mention? The kanji Woman earrings are available in custom colors (and sizes) – but you knew that already 🙂 And hey, talk about a perfect first year, paper anniversary gift! Her fave colors – and the kanji says Woman – and they’re paper. Strengthened, lacquered, durable paper… but still paper. This is a win 🙂 This is a new pair of earrings, and a (somewhat) new style. You’ll probably have noticed that the katakana (kanji) is similar to the one I use on my dogtag necklace that also says Meiyo. This is not a concidence. I think it’s very interesting that the “Honor” is the most popular kanji in my shop. It says something about people: they respect honor, they want to commemorate it, and they want to show the world that honor is important. I think that’s kind of wonderful.  So: kanji earrings that say Meiyo or Honor, shown here in dark green – though of course you know that custom colors are available. And custom sizing too. And for that matter, custom kanji as well. But I do think that Honor is beautiful 🙂 And with today being Valentine’s Day (let’s celebrate this day of love!) these earrings seemed especially appropriate!  May all you couples, boyfriend girlfriend or any combo thereof – celebrate the one you love, share with him or her, and have a wonderful day! Actually this kanji necklace has the Japanese kanji (katakana) that says Haha, or Mother. I’m being a little bit colloquial when I say “Mom”, just because we’re more likely to call our moms that.  She’ll love that you thought of her, and it’s a fun necklace anyway, and it isn’t even expensive. The katakana says Mother. A very important person 🙂 I know it sounds obvious, but I’m just going to be self-serving and point out that Paper Jewels make wonderful first anniversary gifts – since the traditional first anniversary gift is made with paper. Well. You don’t have to spend a lot. You don’t have to sweat it. Paper jewelry makes a wonderful present.  For example, the pretty heart earrings shown here can be made in her favorite colors. I’ve got several styles, in white and pink and purple…. and I’ve got some pretty ones on my new clip on earrings page.  And though I am not supposed to say it, I really like them too 🙂 They’re feminine, they’re big enough to be seen and have a bit of design impact (a bit over 1″ long), but they’re not gaudy and showy. And of course they’re comfy. And since they’re made with lacquered paper, they’re great for that first anniversary gift you guys are looking for. I think I’ve mentioned this before. Flowers. Jewelry.
