I’ve done different incarnations of my pink gerbera daisy earrings – they’re a customer favorite and I do like playing with variations. The first pic here shows my “classic” daisy earrings:
And this second pair is my new version – made with antiqued brass backs with an overlay “face” of lacquered paper (rather than 4-6 layers of paper). What this means is that they’re less labor intensive – and cost less π
They’re brand new onsite – I think they turned out pretty well, and of course they’re still lightweight and comfy (and can be made with natural brass earwires or leverbacks, or precous metal upgrade). I’ll be curious to see what you think!
These are a more modern version of the traditional “first anniversary” pansy earrings that are so popular. They’re clean-lined marquis ovals, almost abstract – but still recognizably pansies. And pretty, lightweight, and fun π
As shown here, they’re about 1-1/4″ high, though I’ve almost made them quite a bit smaller (about 3/4″) – and one time, almost 3″ high! The customer wanted big lightweight earrings, and she loved that she could wear them all day in comfort.
Because I totally believe in comfort – And style, of course π
This is something I hadn’t known till recently: pansies are considered the traditional “first anniversary” flower. I’ve always thought pansies were beautiful, with their wonderful variety and colorations. Now I have another reason to love them π
And they’re probably the most popular flower in my shop, for earrings and necklaces – and now I know (another reason) why. Tradition. Wedding anniversaries. Pansy flowers. They go together like, well, love and marriage.
Plus: girly, pretty, and feminine. Just like flower earrings should be π
I like to try new designs, and occasionally really big earrings, because with paper earrings they can still be comfy. But I tend to come back to more delicate shapes, and delicate florals are among my customer favorites. Like these:
They’re just over 1″ long (big enough to have some presence, but still delicate and of course lightweight). And the little Swarovski crystal elements (accent beads) add just a bit of sparkle. They’re girly, when you’re in that sort of mood.
And – just saying – they are wonderful first anniverary gifts. You know: if you’re looking.
And yes, you have probably guessed that they are a popular gift choice. I mean, if it was your paper (first) anniversary, and you had to find a paper present, and you know your wife likes jewelry, wouldn’t “Wife” be a cool pair of earrings for her?
Especially when you know you can get them in her favorite color. And that they’re comfortable and kind of fun too π
Okay, bijin – which means beautiful woman, or hot babe – that’s pretty popular too π
I love the contrast – a soft grey tone (or color of your choice) and a delicate shape. And the kanji says Abunai, or Dangerous π
So when you’re wearing these pretty (comfortable!) earrings with your light yellow cashmere sweater and light gray pencil skirt – or white tank top and scuffy jeans – and somebody says hey, what do your earrings say? You can smile, and tell them. Or not. But hey, just for fun how about a piece with a sweater?
Sweaters are essential pieces in our winter wardrobes from the matching gear website https://matchinggear.com/. There are several ones to choose from: v-necks, turtlenecks, mock necks and boatnecks, just to name a few. Wearing jewelry with your outfits make them look complete. Our outfits just wouldnβt be the same without jewelry! With all the different types of sweaters you can wear, which jewelry looks best with them?
You can wear several types of necklaces with a boatneck sweater, like a statement necklace, single layer necklace or even a choker. Because the neckline comes up to the neck, but is still open, a multi-layer necklace looks beautiful with this type of sweater. The gray color of this boatneck sweater and the silver tone of this mother of pearl and silver βAureliaβ necklace looks great together.
The kanji says Abunai: dangerous π
This aqua, green and orange hearts necklace is a customer favorite this spring – from the comments I’ve been getting, it’s because these are such “happy colors”. I think that’s a fine description π
Neutrals are fine, black and white can be jazzy and powerful, and a thick silver necklace rich, pretty, it all depends on the one you are giving it to, remember a happy color is the way to go or a silver mood for an elegant or romantic theme.
The way a woman wears a necklace is completely different from the way a man does; this is basically relevant for the fact that for the latter, the necklace is a way of drawing attention to the cleavage. A necklace doesn’t suggest sexuality, it only accents femininity, charm, elegance and the fine curves of a delicate neck. Men on the other hand wear some choke-type necklace models that have a mere decorative function; yet they still send a clear message about the wearer: he is interested in good looks, trendy in style and therefore, a man of his times.
Offering a cancer necklace or any other zodiac sign as a gift is more than common nowadays, and we often have the tendency of attaching some form of emotional value to it. People come to associate a piece of jewelry with the dear one that presented it to them, and this is how mothers leave their necklaces to their daughters and so on. Even the most common necklace could mean a fortune for someone when it is about more than mere good looks. Except for such unique cases, wearing a necklace is now part of the daily routine that requires us to look nice and trendy both for ourselves and for the others.
And (hint) this makes a fine Mother’s Day gift π
Oh dear. That title makes it sound like it’s a favorite of “Fun Customers” when what I meant is, it’s a fun pin that’s a customer favorite. That makes sense, right?
I’ve made this little guy (or girl, hmm, I think you have to be a vet – or a penguin – to tell for sure) in several sizes. Mostly the same colors of course, because I’m trying to be sort-of-realistic…. but you know, it tells me that a lot of people love penguins. I know I do – so it kind of makes my day when someone requests one – it’s always a joy to make one of my Penguins π
I recently had a request for a redo of a pair of earrings a customer had found online. I thought this would be a nice way to show that yes, custom colors are always possible!
Here are the earrings she saw onsite:
And here are the custom colors she requested:
They could have been radically more different, of course. Black background. Bright colors. The thing is, the customer – that’s you – you get to choose π
Okay, maybe kaleidoscope. Or mandala (that’s what I first thought). Or even “snowflake” (remember the snowflakes we used to cut out as kids?) – that’s what these new earrings remind me of.
They’re big, colorful, and lightweight earrings – lacquered paper, with a bit of curve and a lot of shine. And available in custom colors, of course.
Just for fun π
